In my experience and opinion, keto is not an ideal diet strategy for building muscle. Depriving the body of it's primary fuel source (carbs) is not a very efficient way to recover properly or have sufficient energy for training. I've done CKD in the past, but I've only implemented it for cutting. It's worth a try to see how you like it, but I feel that a higher carb diet will beat out any type of keto diet when it comes to trying to build muscle.

As long as your calories and protein are high enough then yes you can build muscle but a low-to no carb diet is not a ideal strategy. If you goal is to build muscle without getting fat I'd go high protein, high carbs from healthy whole food sources and lower fat. Keto is better for loosing weight in a short period of time. You know it's funny how diets go in and outta style every few years.
