    Body fat % when bulking

I'm wanting to start a bulking phase again. Right now im at around 12% body fat and would like to know what body fat % most people quit bulking and start cutting? 15-18%? i have always been naturally lean so losing fat comes pretty easy for me. Just wanting to know how long i should bulk for.

    Thanks,

thing is, you say you've always been naturally lean so i'm not sure how you know losing fat comes easy. going to that 15-18 isn't too bad though, but keep your eyes open. gaining fat doesn't particularly gain you more muscle.

I think that 15-18 is good, when you stop seeing biceps veins even post workout, its a good time.

Id even recommend as little as <14%, bulking doesnt mean you have to get fat. Just take it slow

Work out to tune your body the way YOU want it to be man. I myself don't plan on going over 10% ever again, because I prefer the lean and ripped look. If you are happy with yourself at 15-18% then do it, at least your exercising and still in a healthy body fat range.

Yea personally preference really..I'm not sure I'd go over 15 but I prefer somewhat of a lean look and will sacrifice some size to do so. Some guys just like to be as big as humanly possible lol

I usually shoot up to about 12-14% and then my body levels off. I like to think though, that the leaner you remain while bulking, the easier your cut will be. Though I personally switch between the 2 with the seasons. Fall and winter is straight bulk. Spring and summer equal recomp/cut/maintain.

You might not have to get fat, but caloric excess is totally needed. Hitting that sweet spot of muscle gain with no fat is damn near impossible. What are the long-term goals?

What are your long term goals?

If hitting certain numbers on your lifts is your goal, then I would say keep bulking until you hit your goal. Even if that means you get up to around 18-20% bf.

If your goal is to look good and you aren't as concerned with strength, then once you start feeling uncomfortable with the way you are looking start cutting.

You need to base your training/diet/conditioning decisions around long term and short term goals or else you will never meet those goals. Remember you cant serve two masters at the same time. Its very hard, or even impossible for some people to get strong and lean at the same time.

You can't do both at the same time, but you can male the transition from one to the other easier. Eat clean, put on less BF and make cutting a breeze.

GDA's Are a must for me when increasing the carbs and calories. A little recompadrol can do wonders to keep you lean and help you grow.

Recompadrol is bomb. I put on fat easily and I used it last winter stacked with ALRI Pro anabol, and put on a good few pounds with my bodyfat staying the same. I dont utilize carbs the same way I used to, so I dont know if Ill use it again. but if you eat a lot of carbs, Recomp will be the ultimate tool for you, assuming you're keeping it natural.

long term goals are to just be as big and strong as possible. i have no desire to be less than 10%BF really. But i dont want to have a huge gut either.im happy with being in the 10-15% range. Long term goal i would like to weigh 225lbs.
