    Gain muscle lose fat

Hey guys,I understand that you have to have a caloric surplus to gain muscle but I have some fat in my midsection which is at my belly which makes my abs not visible and I wanna gain muscle mass and have visible abs.how do I do that because I tend to gain muscle when bulking but also a lot of the fat goes to my midsection.and I eat pretty clean.i only have a small portion of simple carbs after a workout and sometimes early in the morning.

You mean gaining muscle while cutting at the same time? Roids bro.

Does recomp really works though because it seems like you're feeding your body a caloric surplus for a shorter amount of time and hinder the chances to grow more muscle mass.

Carb cycling works really well for me, you might want to give that a try.

why do you say a shorter period of time? countless times has lower body fat with an increase in lean mass been reported

I don't know if I'd say the easy way. You have to put up with some sides and to get good results you still have to work out like a beast. If anything on cycle people generally work out harder than others. Epi/Katana would be a good cycle.

I tried a recomp last year with intermittent fasting. Seemed like I was slowly losing fat and not putting on any muscle, possily some but not enough to notice in pictures.

Going to give Layne Norton's 4-6 week bulk, 2-3 week cut a try since I just leaned out for the summer. He talks about it around 3:07 here:

You could possibly try getting your abs where you want by cutting and give this a try after. You might gain a bit slower but will stay fairly lean at the same time.

I'd assume the same as with other cuts, down the calories to 300-500 below maintenance a day? Can't comment on how well it works since I haven't reached that point, just did some reading around the net on shorter bulking/cutting cycles and Mr. Norton's name came up quite a bit.

Some people say it's not as effective as longer cycles but no one seems to have clear evidence (I'm not aware of any studies on this subject either). I'm always open for opinions though.
