No burn after muscle fatigue

I have been out of training for the past 9 months or so due to an injury and am now getting back into it. I have noticed lately I do not feel any type of burn after working out (should mention I have only been back into it at a strict regiment for the past week). Say I do 12 - 10 - 8 reps which the last few I struggle to push the weight to the point I can't lift anymore. Afterwords I do not feel any type of burn, I do fell pumps though. I know you have to tear muscles then let them rest to heal / grow bigger, which would think in return a burn should be felt?

The burn is from acidosis, morr specifically the dissociation of hydrogen ions from lactate accumulation. You may not be working out at a high enough intensity to cause this effect yet. The burn sensation is experienced more often with larger sets and shorter rest periods.
