Antaeus Labs Modular Series 7,8-dihydroxyflavone is a nootropic supplement. Nootropics - also called "smart drugs" - are generally taken for perceived mental benefits such as improvements in memory, mood, focus, or motivation.
7,8-dihydroxyflavone is a naturally-occurring flavone, found in Godmania aesculifolia and primula tree leaves. In vivo testing has shown that 7,8-DHF is orally-active and crosses the blood-brain barrier. 7,8-dihydroxyflavone, also known as DHF, is a potent tyrosine kinase receptor B (TrkB) agonist. 7,8-dihydroxyflavone mimics the activity of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and has potent neuroprotective and nootropic properties. It has also demonstrated some aromatase inhibition in in vitro testing.
