Agmatine, muscle builder or prostate breaker?
Since few years companies are promoting agmatine. And based on the user feedback it seems that it's working well for pump, vascularity and hypertrophy. But how safe is it in regard to prostate health? It seems that Agmatine increases synthesis of arachidonic acid in the body. Now It has been shown that arachidonic acid stimulates the growth of prostate cancer cells. Studies show that incidences of prostate cancer is greatest in regions with high consumption of foods rich in arachidonic acid. This leads to my question: is agmatine safe for men? And what impact does it have on our prostate?

If you already have prostate cancer it could be bad. It's not saying it causes cancer, that says it makes cancer grow. Plenty of things are pro growth and beneficial for muscle building and pro growth and terrible for stopping existing cancer.

For instance do you ever see mtor activity as a reason a supplement is good for building muscle? The same mtor is a target for inhibition by many anti-cancer drugs.

It makes sense that things that stimulate growth could be beneficial for the purposes of people here and terrible for the purposes of people with cancer

Correlation =\= causation there could be plenty of other factors apart from dietary arachidonic acid that are prostate cancer risk factors. Also people take arachidonic acid by itself as a supplement (not saying anything about safety, just that it's out there)

Great post. Generally speaking, anything "anabolic" promotes cancer (Ras, mTOR, Akt) while anything catabolic (AMPK, p53) is anti-tumorogenic.
