    Arrow Low T Therapy

My Doctor wanted to test my cholesterol etc. so I just had some blood work done. High cholesterol aside, it also showed I have low testosterone (290) for a 37 year old. So she prescribed me testosterone therapy - a product called Axiron.

I have taken natural testosterone boosters before, but never the real stuff.

I have a couple of questions:
    1. Is this something I am going to need to take for the rest of my life?
    2. Do I need to cycle it?
    3. Will I need to take anything to counteract the estrogen?
    4. Should I be taking a natural testosterone booster?

    Anyone have experience with this?

    1. Yes, if you want to have normal test levels.
    2. No- you will be doing this for life.
    3. Usually, not once you get your proper dosing figured out. It seems that it used to be common to just prescribe a bunch of test and then an AI to counteract the effects. Now people are getting smarter and have adjusted the amount and frequency of test to avoid this. Some people may still need an AI though.
    4. No, they are worthless.

Read some of the AM user reviews of T-BLAST. T-BLAST is the highest dosed D-Aspartic Acid supplement on the market. Clinical studies show that dosing 3 grams or more of D-Aspartic Acid everyday will boost your free testosterone levels by up to 40%. T-BLAST has 3.2 grams of D-Aspartic Acid per serving.

Outside of those few studies, I highly doubt anyone is seeing 40% increase from DAA in general. Even if it were accurate, going from a 290 reading to a 406 won't do much for any positive effects.

Do it right and do it big. Get a real prescription.

I use a generic testosterone gel (same as Androgel/Testim) from a place called androrxshop. My biggest problem with those testosterone boosters etc, is they just get way to expensive for what you're getting for it. That's why I always get back to androgel to help my t-levels.

Get AndroGel or Testim there are even natural ones that can do a good job but not as fast and as well ihmo. Androgel seems mild and non-addictive (atleast to me). I get off it when I get ready to cycle again and then after my post-cycle treatment I jump back on just to normalize my testosterone levels. Personally, like jrv1939 I've just got my first 4oz from Androrxshop.com from seeing it here on the forum. It's working well for me like my patented-version that costs $200 per 4oz....

Without insurance there's no way I could afford to get my t -levels up. I work part time. Thats why I go to that site to get mine. Plus, insurance companies tend to up your insurance rates when they know your T-levels arent the best. They did it to me, so I decided to cease through official means and get it online.

My doctor prescribed a single shot of 200 mg test cyp per month. My total test levels were 235. Any ideas how to talk him into giving me weekly or bi weekly injections without offending him or sounding like im just wanting it for other reasons? If I go to a different doctor I will have to pay for the trt and dr visit but this doctor is in my plan and anything he prescribes is at no charge.

I was but on TRT, at first I was on 200mg every 3 weeks if test-e. I just told him around day I could feel a drop in my sex drive, energy and sense of well being. So he switched it to 200mg every two weeks. My wife does my injections so we split the dose into 100mg per week and my levels have stabilized and have had no need for a AI

Yeah, you be honest with him and tell him this won't work for you because it is giving you terrible mood swings- and you won't be lying. Then you explain to him that you would like to move to 50mg a week and ask to be tested again in a month or two to see how things are. If he doesn't agree with that, then you let him know you will be seeking another opinion.

Don't mess with these doctors that won't work with you and your health and well being. This has been around long enough that there is no excuse for a doctor not understanding and being up on proper protocols by now. They are either ignorant or just stubborn.

    Same here

Hi how are you ? Im in the same situation. I don't know what my count was but I chose the injections & my doc gave me 300mg once every 3 weeks. People are saying & I'm starting to see that it drops back down after 12 days or so. I'm going to try to get them more often at smaller doses.
Could you share some of your knowledge with me please?

I go to the pharmacy with my prescription. I order some pins off the internet. I take the bottle, fill the needle, and jam it in my leg as often as I feel like. As long as I don't exceed the total dose per month, I am fine.

    In practice, it's 1x week.

If your doctor will not let you do home injections, find another doctor.

Be honest. It is your health and hormones so you need to be firm with what you need and want. That is a horrible protocol and he doesn't know what he is doing if that is what he wants to try. You need to educate him or move on. If it is free but wrecking you, is it worth it?

I agree. I'm ending the cycle I was on and I've got an appointment in January to see if I can get things straightened out with my current doctor. If not, I've found another dr to try out. It really sucks that I have to end my cycle early, I was seeing some awesome results but I need to get this trt straight first and I can run another cycle down the road.

keep it. Some people get gyno on TRT. Best to have it on hand even if you don't need it, it lasts if it is not liquid.

the best way is to tell him that you are feeling sluggish about 2-2 1/2 weeks after your injection.... the bioavailability is roughly 14-15 days after injection of cypionate, I get 200 every 13 days and my levels are high enough to where I feel like I'm 18 again, gain good muscle mass, and sex like a mofo, TELL him bro, I'm telling you, you are missing out man..... normal levels as per the endocrine system, is 360-1100 as to here therapeutic is between 600-800, do your research, and school him... if he is a specialist, and just a PCP then he needs to be informed.... good luck, hope this helps

You may want to also school your doc because he is using an outdated protocol with 200mg e2w. By the time you go in for a shot, you are at or lower than when you first started out. Why go through that rollercoaster when you can easily break that into 100ew, or better yet, 50 e3.5d?

that is a good idea, I never really thought about it that way, my doc is a NP and a female, but she is leaving and I will be getting a new doctor, so hopefully I can do it that way, however, the VA (veterans affairs ) looks at **** way different, even their "levels" are lower than that of the actual endocrine doctrine.... so yea, thank you for the heads up

Dude I really think it matters when you have a male or female doctor. The chick doctors just don't seem to understand that the old school protocol doesn't work for us st all. I played he'll trying to get injections every week, & still I have to go to an alternate source to get what I need.

that honestly scares me bro, this is our lives that we are entrusting them with, and we still have to go else where to get what we know that we need..... what the hell has healthcare come to..... im also a spinal cord patient and that is a whole other realm of scary that I have to deal with and its VA so....... im FU%$ED

I got my dr. To change my script to biweekly shots at 200 mg each shortly after i posted this. He allows me to take it at home so im splitting it to 100 mg per week for now. The problem i have now is getting syringes. Our local pharmacy wont sell them to me unless i get my script there which i cant. Walmart wont sell them to me. So does anyone have any ideas how i can get them so i dont have to use vet grade anymore?

    Search on line bro .
I've ran into sites that ships pins.
I'm surprised and glad that you got through to your doc & now are able to do home injections.
I so wish I could do the same.

    Hi,
Had my test, was 278, my Dr. prescribed Androderm 19.5 mg , delivery of 4mg / day ,( patch ) had a retest after 3 months range is 470 now. I would prefer the injectable as the patch burns the hell out of my skin , I mentioned to my Dr. , and her reply was " I can discontinue " . Do you think a specialist would be more approachable ?

Bummer about the patch. I use the exact same patch. I use 2 a day most of the time. My skin didn't start burning and scaring until just this last month. I've been using them for like 7 months, any ways I'm getting tired of the patch and will be going back to getting pinned every 3 weeks. It's pretty hard to get home injections but if you did see an Endo, which I have not, who knows , you could get to do them at home.
I've stored up a couple of boxes of patches so when I go back to injections I'll use the patch for the 3rd week then get my injection again . I think it will work better that way.
