What is up, SixPackAbs.com? Thomas DeLauer here – Lead Nutritionist on the channel and creator of Science Based Six Pack.
Check out my free video I just posted breaking down the science behind achieving the physique you want through combining my intermittent fasting protocol and time-under-tension training now at http://go.sixpackabs.com/scienf905.
Today I’m gonna help you all out with a combo of both training and nutrition knowledge. I’m breaking down and explaining why your Spleen & Lymphatic System (Immune System) is actually playing a significantly large role when it comes down to how much fat you burn and how fast you can get six pack abs.
Let’s get right into it: 0:26 – What is the Lymphatic System? 0:44 – Lymph – a clear fluid made mostly of white blood cells with some red blood cells and proteins. It circulates throughout the body, providing cells with nutrients and also clears toxins from the body. 1:10 – Lymph carries fatty acids to the liver, the main fat-burning organ, for further processing and metabolism. 1:47 – Studies have shown that if lymph is NOT moving well and the lymphatic system isn’t accurately performing like it should, the fatty acids and other materials within the lymph will not reach the liver and necessary organs in time, causing unwanted weight gain. 2:05 – What is the Spleen? 2:19 – The spleen is the largest lymphatic organ and controls the number of red blood cells and blood storage in the body. 3:06 – The tonsils are the first line of defense in the immune system, monitoring what comes in through the nose and mouth. 3:38 – The Lymphatic/Immune System & Burning Fat 4:08 – The Lymphatic System is NOT the Circulatory System. 4:39 – The lymphatic system has no series of muscles to keep lymph moving, unlike the circulatory system, and is instead moved by exercise. 5:00 – The pump from the gym isn’t blood – it’s mostly lymph you’re pulling up into the area of the muscle being worked.
Tip #1 – 5:18– Make sure to train upper and lower body splits.
Tip #2 – 5:47– Drink plenty of water.
Juice a bit of lemon into it while you’re at it. You see, the lymphatic system is about 95% water, making water essential for its health.
Lemon is an alkaline fruit that helps to mineralize the body and lymph.
Tip #3– Take digestive enzymes – Proteolytic enzymes.
E.g. bromelain from pineapple and papain from papaya. The proteolytic enzymes clear toxic waste buildup in the lymph and blood. 6:44 – Study showing Lymph = Fat-Burninghttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26931178
The simple takeaway from today is that if you want abs, get moving. You also can’t just go to the gym and train biceps all the time or eat like garbage either.
Remember – take care of your body. Upper and lower body splits for training, plenty of water, and look into those proteolytic enzymes.,
